Your Writing Coach in Toronto
My name is Leandre Larouche, and I'm a writing coach serving the Toronto area.
I'm excited to help you with your writing project.
Looking for a writing coach in Toronto?
Well, if you stumbled upon this page, you likely are... So allow me to introduce myself!
My name is Leandre Larouche. I'm the founder of Trivium Writing Inc. I've authored 3 books, both fiction, and nonfiction—and I'm a writing coach, consultant, and instructor. I spend most of my time in Toronto, Canada, but teach and work all over the world and online.
If you're looking for a writing coach, chances are that you are facing some writing difficulties—difficulties I've faced at some point or another. I would love to help you make writing a simpler, more pleasant process by working with you one-on-one.
I can help you achieve your writing goals by coaching you through my Architecture of Writing method. It's a proprietary methodology I've developed to help writers and non-writers alike improve their writing skills and nail the process regardless of their current level.

A Writing Coach for Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA)

Toronto is a vibrant city.
Filled with creative and businesspeople of all kinds, it's a great city to be a writer. Major Canadian writers like Margaret Atwood and Michale Ondaatje hail from Toronto.
Toronto is also home to publishers and companies that employ writers, editors, and creatives—as well as universities that produce breakthrough research.
For local Toronto residents, my writing coaching services are available in person (if I'm in the city) or via Zoom.
I look forward to connecting with you!
What Can We Work On Together and Which Projects Do I Take On?
As a professional writer and communications consultant with over a decade of experience in different genres and industries, I'm a versatile writing coach. I'm a published fiction and nonfiction author with a background in English literature and professional writing, which I acquired from universities in Canada, the U.K., and the U.S.
While I specialize in nonfiction book writing, I also work with fiction writers and business professionals.
I can help you with projects such as:
- fiction
- nonfiction
- short stories
- business writing
Whether you're a beginner writer getting started or have a master's degree and write for national publications, I can help you improve your writing process and strengthen your unique voice.
I've helped clients from all walks of life with creative writing, nonfiction, and creative nonfiction projects.
How Do We Work Together and What Can I Expect From Our Partnership?
By entering a coaching relationship with me, you'll benefit from:
- a supportive environment
- custom writing prompts
- individual feedback
- tailored advice
- and accountability
These are invaluable assets to achieve your writing goals.
Writing can be challenging, but with the right person by your side, you can achieve anything you want. Whether I am the right person for you is up to you to decide, but I work closely with my clients.

I get to know clients deeply and develop a close relationship with them. A consigliere of sorts, I serve as a sounding board and confidant. My special strength is asking questions that make people's brains explode with ideas that work.
The questions I ask you help you get to the bottom of your story or topic. I leave no stone unturned. I take you to exciting—sometimes dangerous—places while holding your hand. To grow, you need to find both your blind spots and your hidden gems. Alone, it's hard to see the full promise and potential you hold...
With a writing coach, it's not only easy—it's also fun!
Why Work With Me vs Another Writing Coach?
If you’re going to work with a writing coach, you need one who understands you. And no matter who they are, they should be open-minded, knowledgeable, and a lot of fun.
These are some of the qualities I bring to the table.
I’ve worked with people from all walks of life, and the most frequent feedback I get is, “I can’t believe you understand me and my ideas so well.”
Because I’m obsessively curious and read voraciously, I have a general culture and understanding of the world you can draw from. And more importantly, I love to laugh. In my world, work is play, and I’ll make sure we have a good time working together.
Oh, and if we're meeting for in-person sessions, I'll take you to Toronto's best coffee shops!

Are We a Fit to Work Together? (Some Non-Negotiables)
Before talking about details, it's essential to know if we're a fit.
What I look for in clients:
- intellectually curious and open-minded people who are serious about writing well
- receptive to feedback and open to being challenged respectfully when appropriate
- transparent and willing to communicate openly about writing challenges and difficulties
While I work with clients with various writing skill levels and from different backgrounds and industries, I look for a level of intellectual rigor and seriousness we see in most mature businesspeople, professionals, and academics. This doesn't mean you must fit into a box; it means I reserve the right to select as clients only those I believe fit this criterion.
I'm committed to working only with those I know can get great results from my help.
What you can expect from me:
- a professional, compassionate, and reliable partner who is committed to your growth
- a flexible coach who guides you in achieving your goals without fitting you into a box
- a human being you can rely on even when the process gets difficult emotionally
